i. The problem

Built on paper.
Breaking under load.

2–7 min
No time, only paperwork

Indian OPD doctors get just 2 to 7 minutes per patient. Notes, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions all have to fit in.

Prescriptions are illegible

Studies of Indian outpatient prescriptions find up to 24% are written in handwriting the pharmacy can't reliably read. Mistakes follow.

Source · PMC · Indian J of Medical Ethics
22 %
Lost to follow-up

Roughly one in five patients never make it back into the same record. Without a digital trail, every visit starts from zero. Chronic care suffers, trends are missed.

ii. Why now

Paper prescriptions just became
a constitutional issue.

Right to a legible medical prescription and diagnosis is a part of the Right to Health, and is therefore a Fundamental Right under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
Punjab & Haryana High Court
October 2025

The court has directed the states to transition every clinic to typed or digital prescriptions within two years. Until then, every prescription must be written in capital letters.

2 years
Court-set deadline

States have been directed to transition every clinic to typed or digital prescriptions. The NMC has been ordered to add legible prescriptions to the medical curriculum.

Private clinics on ABDM

Just 17,000 of India's 1.3 lakh ABDM-onboarded facilities are private. Solo clinics are still mostly paper, and missing from the national health stack.

Patients already digital

ABHA digital health IDs have been issued to 67 crore Indians. Their patients are already digital. The doctors mostly aren't. Yet.

iii. How it works

Three steps. Zero new habits.

Step i

You consult as usual.

Talk to the patient the way you always do. Examine. Ask questions. ClinicSaathi listens quietly in the background, on your phone.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this live yet?

ClinicSaathi is pre-launch. We're building the prototype and onboarding the first pilot doctors directly. If you'd like to shape what we build, write to the founder.

What languages does it understand?

Hindi, English, and the natural code-mixing Indian doctors actually use ("patient ko fever hai since two days"). More Indian languages are on the roadmap.

Can I edit records after the fact?

Always. Every auto-generated field is one tap away from being edited. The structure helps you, it doesn't lock you in.

What if a patient comes back after six months?

Search by name or phone, and every past visit, prescription, and note is right there. ClinicSaathi keeps every consultation searchable, even years later, so the next visit doesn't start from zero.

Is patient data safe?

Audio is processed in the cloud only to power your consultation. We're building to keep that data hosted in India and encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell patient data or share it with third parties, and you can export everything any time. ClinicSaathi is being built to align with India's DPDP Act and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

Do I need new hardware?

No. Any modern Android phone or iPhone runs ClinicSaathi well.
